The taste of FRED Roses was developed on the basis of an American blend, which means that three different types of tobacco are used: Virginia (also called Flue Cured), Burley and Oriental.
Virginia tobacco comes mostly from the USA. These tobacco leaves are dried in warm air. Their color is very light (gold and orange), and the aroma is best smelt in the mouth.
Burley is a chocolate-colored, dark tobacco. It originates primarily from Europe and imparts a salty and nutty flavor to the throat. Oriental tobacco leaves are much smaller and very aromatic. They originate from Greece and Turkey and are sun-dried. FRED cigarettes contain a larger proportion of Oriental tobacco than conventional cigarettes. Their aroma is very sweet and can be easily detected by the nose.
