To mark the tenth anniversary of the Nicaragua line, Davidoff is launching a limited edition Gran Toro cigar with rum cask aged tobacco. Combined Davidoff sophistication with bittersweet intensity. This is how Davidoff Nicaragua came about, explains Edward Simon, CMO at Oettinger Davidoff.

The Limited Edition Gran Toro cigar is reminiscent of the existing Nicaragua blend, but takes the taste to a new level. The wrapper, binder and filler tobaccos together have a combined age of 45 years. Another special feature is the Estelí Seco tobacco in the insert, which was allowed to mature in a rum barrel for a total of 6 months. This process creates a noticeable depth and complexity in the blend. At the beginning, the Gran Toro inspires with complex aromas of nuts. The Nicaraguan filler tobaccos contribute with notes of fresh spice and leather. The considerable age of the tobacco noticeably ensures balance. In the second third, the spicy stimulation slowly subsides, while the taste develops into more intense notes of oak, latte and exciting eucalyptus aromas. Towards the end, the intensity increases again and the previous latte notes turn into those of black coffee. Flavors of fresh herbs join the ubiquitous toasty aromas of this masterpiece that treats aficionados to 60 to 70 minutes of beautifully filled time.
